“I wanted to become a physician because I enjoy interacting with people. My background is in science, and I like to put that background to use in helping people, but also in communicating with the patient. In-depth discussions with the patient are so important in helping them understand what we can and cannot do. When I have these discussions with patients, I never cut them short. I try to answer all their questions, and I think that helps them relax. People going in for surgery often have a lot of anxiety, and I try to listen to their concerns and address them.”
