“I was inspired to go into healthcare by my mother. She’s a nurse—an R.N. But also, I’m a people person. I like to get to know my patients, what makes them tick. How do they perceive their pain? What makes their pain better or worse? Then they aren’t just a number. This town is a lot like the little town in Texas I grew up in, and I know that a lot of my patients have invested in this community. Treating them is a way of being part of this community and way to give back. That’s important to me. And it’s just fun getting to know people.”
