Hands-On Medicine & Complementary Therapies

The “hands-on” manual therapy we practice is based on osteopathic principles of health and disease and incorporates gentle touch in both diagnosis and treatment. A fundamental diagnostic and treatment principle of osteopathy recognizes that a person is a unit of body, mind, and spirit and that disease and pain processes have somatic (bodily) associations in the musculoskeletal and fascial layers and energetic systems of the body. Gentle hands-on manual therapy can often assist with pain relief and calming the autonomic nervous system. The incorporation of such complementary therapies as acupuncture, homeopathy, aromatherapy, etc can often help minimize or control side effects and enhance feelings of well-being.
